One of our group had to head off to work, and by 4pm we were just tired. We decided to head back. On our way back, we had to transfer skytrains, and since my friend was hungry again at this point, we ended up in front of Uncle Fatih's Pizza.
I've been wanting to try out their pizzas forever, and who can say no to two large pieces and a pop for $4~? Okay, so it's pricier than other pizza joints I've seen by a bit (but hey. a dollar here, a dollar there. I can deal)
Technically I think 4pm would be considered snack time for a lot of people. Explains the line up, hm? They've got lots of pizza to choose from, but what they have always varies.
The pizzas were his, so the decisions were left to him. Pepperoni and chicken (although it looks more like vegetarian, doesn't it?) I wanted the one with artichokes (veggie lovers), but ah well. Uncle Fatih's pizzas are made thinner, yet their crust stands out just fine against the ingredients.
The crust was just crispy enough, both on the crust and underneath (despite the fact that they're left out on display). The peppers had a great crunch to them, and despite the fact that they're a little hard to spot at first, there was chicken in every bite. There's not too much cheese on these pizzas, but I personally don't miss it all too much, it lets the other ingredients stand out. There was spinach on this pizza as well, but it did not add or detract.
I didn't get a picture of the pepperoni one, my friend wouldn't put it down, but it had great large pieces of pepperoni
As another blogger has mentioned before, Uncle Fatih's Pizza sprinkles the edge of the pizza with sesame seeds. I agree that it does not add or detract from the pizza, but this may have been because the chicken pizza had so little sesame on it. I think if there was more I would have appreciated the texture.
The empty paper plate that held our pizzas was minimally oily. Only a few streaks. I appreciated this greatly. A not too greasy pizza. How often does that happen?
This was a great pizza that I thoroughly enjoyed. Then again, I rarely have pizzas anymore so I don't have much to compare to. All I know is that I have missed pizza, dearly.
Uncle Fatih's Pizza:
Food:
- Decent price
- Great tasting quick bites to eat by the skytrain
- Large variety
- Pizzas not too greasy
Atmosphere:
Service:
- Its a grab a go joint with a couple of chairs inside and outside. Not much to expect.
- Is it clean...? Good question.
- Nothing to talk about. I've heard when very busy it gets rather poor.

Solid pizza for a great price, not much to complain about eh? They have another location opening up soon!
And a shame, because I'm just so good at complaining ; D! Yea~ I think I saw a picture taken somewhere or rather online. Wheres it going to open?
I really liked this place.. I wonder how it compares to Ah-beetz? That place is pretty far out..
Complaining? You haven't heard *me* complaining! Heck, some food bloggers *cough*Kevin*cough* think I do nothing but complain! :D
As for their second place, it is open already. Check here
You can't compare this place to Ah-Beetz. They are miles away... Far? I am tempted to do that again! :D
Oh budddyy, I've been trying to keep my complaining to the minimum on this blog! Haha, you should see me sometimes. We'd have a great time complaining.
Bring me back a slice >D~! [please :)]
I saw a third one opened on west broadway and macdonald
third uncle fatih's pizza...........has anybody tried?
I can't say I have the opportunity at the moment, but the moment I get back, it's on the list : ) I miss pizza.. And anything not Asian and oil-laden really at the moment.
..Well. pizza would possibly be considered oil-laden, but nevermind that.
